WHAT WE TEACH

Whether you have a strong spiritual foundation, are just at the beginning of your spiritual journey, or do not believe in God at all, Unity offers an accepting environment for everyone. While having its beginnings in Christianity, the Unity teachings bring together ancient wisdom from many faith traditions. While we have doctrine, there is no dogma in Unity. We honor all spiritual paths.

The Five Basic Principles

  • God Is.

God is all there is. It is the infinite creative energy that exists in everything.

  • We Are.

    Human beings are inherently divine.

  • Mind is Creative

Thoughts and beliefs, and the feelings we experience in relationship to them, create the events and experiences of our lives.

  • Prayer and Meditation

Affirmative prayer and meditation are the primary spiritual tools we teach and use to design these events and experiences.

  • Choice.

To actively apply this spiritual teaching in our lives every day, moving beyond an intellectual understanding to its embodiment, is a choice.

Activating Faith

What is faith? It is a knowing so inwardly embodied that it becomes immutable truth for the one in whom the idea is embodied. Unity teaches that faith can be developed in the consciousness of those who are willing. While we do not wish to be rooted in dogma, the fundamental premise upon which Unity principles are based is this idea of faith: nothing exists outside of God. This means we are all God, and when we begin to identify ourselves as such we begin to make better choices in support of our inherent magnificence.

Tools for developing faith are education, prayer, and action.
